Gentle support

Why Hire a Doula?

The evidence speaks for itself

Studies show that doula-supported births result in:

  • 25% decrease in cesarean rates
  • 28% decrease in the use of pain medication
  • 31% decrease in the use of Pitocin
  • 34% decrease in low 5-minute Apgar scores
  • 41% decrease in the use of forceps or vacuum

"Birth is not only about making babies. Birth is about making mothers."

What a doula does

A doula is a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional, and informational support to birthing people before, during, and after childbirth. Unlike medical staff, a doula's sole purpose is to support you.

During pregnancy

We'll build a relationship, discuss your hopes and concerns, create a birth preferences plan, and prepare you for what to expect.

During labor and birth

I'll be by your side offering comfort measures, encouragement, advocacy, and a calm, steady presence — no matter how long your labor takes.

After birth

A post-birth check-in to process your birth experience, answer questions, and make sure you feel supported as you begin life with your new baby.

"You were born to do this. I'm just here to remind you."

Want to talk about it?

I'd love to answer any questions you have and see if we're a good fit.
